Thanks to Funtuna team, you’re doing a very great job. In conclusion, it is possible to run Free McBoot on PS2 slim 9000x. To see how many partition in a drive, I use diskmgmt application in Windows. 4 - Select the transparent icon and copy it from the Memory Card in slot 1 to the Memory Card in slot 2. 3 - Turn on your console and go to the PS2 Browser and then enter the first Memory Card. I realize that OPL cannot detect USB Drive with GPT (GUID Partition Table) partition. and it is too simple just put the opl dvd and configure setting. and you need ps2 opl dvd-OPEN PS2 LOADER, google it it is 1.3mb compressed and 1.3gb uncompressed. After I enter Free McBoot menu, I choose OPL to run that application. for 9xxx models, ps2 must moded by a modchip. Master Jolek Yes, my memory card with fmcb works on my other ps2 fat.

I only need to copy the Funtuna-R2.psu file to my memory card, and I could run Free McBoot by just opening the memory card from PS2 browser. Fortunately, there is new exploit called Funtuna that allows 9000x series to run Free McBoot. Slim 9000x series is not capable to boot Free McBoot Exploit, which is necessary to run OPL.
Secondly, I would like to run USB games on that PS2, so I have to run Open PS2 Loader (OPL). PS2 slims that were manufactured in 3rd quarter 2008 came with different versions of firmware, so it’s a crap shoot.

If your date code is 8C, the mod may or may not work. That means that machine’s lens is still capable to read DVD drive, and it has already had a modchip because it could run backup DVD game. For this to work, you’ll need a PS2 slim with a date code of 8B or earlier. This is a slim model which includes a power supply inside, so I don’t need to bring any power adapter.įirstly I test playing a DVD game, Resident Evil 4, which I backup and it runs fine.
